  15. Facade(tm) is a simple loader program that allows DOS executable applications
  16. to display a developer-designed VGA .pcx file as a sign-on image.  Upon
  17. normal execution of the main application, Facade(tm) releases itself from
  18. memory, thus adding no overhead to the executable sequence.
  19.  
  20. The splashscreen displays for four seconds, then calls the main executable
  21. just as it would have been executed from the system prompt.
  22.  
  23. Facade(tm) may be used with most traditional MS-DOS language executables,
  24. including those created with CA-Clipper, Borland Turbo Pascal, QuickBASIC,
  25. PowerBasic, Visual Basic(tm) for DOS, dBase, Clarion, C, etc.  Unlike other
  26. programs of this type, Facade(tm) may actually work well in professional
  27. development environments.

  29. Facade(tm) image displays will run under both DOS and Windows.  The utility
  30. is particularly effective for software developers preparing copyright or
  31. other splashscreens of their products, in that they can easily capture usable
  32. materials with programs like Hijaak(tm) for Windows and modify or create them
  33. in editing programs such as Windows(tm) Paintbrush.

  36. fee is only $14.95 (single-user system).

  41. The requirements for running Facade(tm) include a DOS-compatible PC with
  42. 512k memory, VGA graphics capability, and a hard drive.  DOS 3.1 (or later)
  43. or Windows 3.x (or later) should be utilized.
